Kash Beauchamp - Field Manager, Wichita

Kash Beauchamp enters his first season as skipper of the Wichita Wingnuts. Beauchamp brings 25 years of pro experience to the Wingnuts, including 10 at the independent level. His all-time record as a manager is 339-324.

Beauchamp was the first overall pick in the 1982 January draft by the Toronto Blue Jays. The outfielder played 12 seasons with various organizations, achieving the AAA level in six of these seasons. During his career, he was a three-time all-star and in 1984 was voted the “Best Defensive Outfielder” and the “Outfielder with the Best Arm” by Baseball America. In 1993, while playing with the Northern League’s Rochester Aces, Beauchamp became the first Independent League player ever signed by a Major League Team (Cincinnati Reds).

After his playing days were over, Kash worked as a hitting coach in the Montreal Expos organization during the 1995-1997 seasons. He took his first managerial job in 1998 with the New Jersey Jackals, leading the team to the Northeast League Championship. After two more seasons with New Jersey, Beauchamp led the Northern League’s Lincoln Saltdogs in 2001 and Adirondack Lumberjacks in 2002. Kash and the Lumberjacks moved to Bangor for the 2003 and 2004 seasons.

In 2005, he became the Director of Scouting and Player Development for the Golden League. Beauchamp managed the league’s Pensacola Pelicans in 2006. Most recently, Kash served as Director of Scouting and Vice President of Baseball Operations for the South Coast League.
